#SMCJAX (Social Media Club Jacksonville)

Attended the Social Media Club Jax launch tonight at the Pablo Creek Library in Jacksonville. Thanks to Lauren Beyer @ltbeyer for organizing this project.

Here are the items that stuck out to me:

SMC is an organization committed to the following ideas:

• Sharing best practices
• Promoting media literacy
• Ethical behavior (can't we all use a little more of that)
• Industry standards

There are four positions available on the board - two are filled already.

SMC Jax is looking for topics to discuss - ideas included an Ignite session, Intro to Web 2.0 and having guest speakers Skype in. Follow @smcjax to stay informed on the latest gatherings.
