Just completed a meeting with Janice Petrelli at Perfect Planning. One thing that I did not know prior to our meeting is that she is able to plan events world-wide. In fact, a number of her clients are headquartered in the northern half of the US.

I left thinking that she would be an excellent fit for an organization that has one or more events coming up this year. Her projects run from the simple in scope all the way to huge week-long conferences.

She is hosting a presentation on event planning successfully during down economic times. RSVP on Facebook.

Steampunk

I have been a fan of Steampunk design for the last several years after I saw a picture of Darth Vader all done up in that style.

It shares many of the same elements of the grunge style that is emerging in web design. Heavy emphasis on grayscale (but not limited to), great use of technology and a slightly dark theme.

First Blog Post - Personal

Jim Brochu and Steve Schalchlin. Opening night...Image via Wikipedia

I had this idea over the weekend that beyond the blogging, microblogging and status updates I push out for my three business ventures that having a personal profile might be nice. So I started a fresh profile on Twitter, Flickr and Blogger.

I believe the purpose of this personal blogging is to be able to comment on items that extend beyond the scope of my work. So maybe it will be a collection of articles that I find interesting or my reading list.

One idea that keeps circulating in my head: How can I channel this new space for networking and collaboration into a missionary work?

If you find it interesting, subscribe to the RSS feed. I'll try to keep it interesting.
